Some love stories begin with a swipe or a chance meeting—but Julia and DJ’s story began much earlier.
These two first met while attending Hanover Central High School, and what started as a high school connection grew into something lasting and meaningful. Their journey continued at Indiana University, where their relationship deepened through college life, shared experiences, and the kind of friendship that forms the strongest foundation for a marriage.
So when April 26, 2025 arrived, surrounded by the people who had watched their story unfold over the years, it felt less like the beginning of a new chapter and more like the celebration of a love that had already stood the test of time.
And what better day to share their story again than on their one-year anniversary.

A Romantic Spring Setting
Julia and DJ celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Aberdeen Manor Ballroom, Chapel, and Garden, which provided the perfect mix of elegant indoor spaces and dreamy outdoor portraits.
Their ceremony took place inside the chapel beneath a stunning stained glass window that created such a romantic backdrop. The soft natural light and neutral tones of the space allowed the emotion of the ceremony to truly shine. One of the most unforgettable moments came right after they were pronounced husband and wife—when DJ dipped Julia for a celebratory kiss while their friends and family cheered from the pews.
Moments like that are the ones couples remember forever.

Soft Spring Colors & Elegant Details
Julia chose a timeless fitted gown with delicate lace detailing and a long flowing veil that created some truly magical portrait moments. When the evening breeze caught the veil in the garden, it added movement and romance that made the portraits feel almost cinematic.
Their color palette felt perfectly suited for spring—soft blush pinks, mauves, and creamy neutrals that carried through the bouquets, ties, and details throughout the day.
The florals by La Petite Fleuriste were absolutely stunning. Julia’s bouquet featured a beautiful mix of blush roses, mauve blooms, and soft greenery that complemented the entire aesthetic of the day.
Paired with DJ’s classic black suit and blush tie, the overall look was elegant, romantic, and timeless.

Golden Hour Magic
One of my favorite moments of the day was slipping outside during golden hour for portraits in the garden. The warm sunlight filtering through the trees created the most beautiful glow around them. Watching the two of them laugh, hold each other close, and soak in the quiet moments of the day was such a reminder that weddings are about more than just the celebration—they’re about the connection that brought two people there in the first place.
Their portraits under the white garden pergola, with Julia’s veil flowing behind her, were pure magic.

Celebrating With the People Who Matter Most
After the ceremony and portraits, the celebration continued inside the ballroom where friends and family gathered to toast the newlyweds. From their first dance to the laughter shared throughout the evening, it was clear that Julia and DJ are surrounded by an incredible support system.
The entire day felt joyful, relaxed, and full of genuine moments—exactly what a wedding day should be.
